Home Recall Watch organizes public U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission records so people can find the notice that may match a product in their home.
Why this site exists
Recall notices can contain dense product descriptions, long model lists, and several different dates. This site presents those verified fields in a consistent format, highlights what to compare on a product label, and keeps a prominent path back to the source notice.
Summaries are assembled deterministically from CPSC fields. They are not speculative safety assessments, and missing information is not filled in with plausible-sounding details.
Coverage
This first release focuses on home products in four groups:
- Appliances
- HVAC equipment and water heaters
- Portable and home generators
- Power tools
A record outside those groups may not appear here even when it exists in the broader CPSC database. Vehicle recalls are outside this project's scope, and Home Recall Watch does not use NHTSA data.
Our operating principles

- Recall facts originate only from the CPSC recall dataset.
- No invented details
- We do not create model numbers, incident counts, remedies, contacts, or safety instructions.
- Readable, traceable presentation
- Normalized fields remain connected to the corresponding official notice, which users should review before acting.

- Compare the brand, product description, and label details.
- Open the linked CPSC notice and confirm that the product matches.
- Follow the remedy and contact instructions in that official notice.
Home Recall Watch improves discovery and readability; it does not decide whether a particular unit is included in a recall.
