Generac Power Systems Recalls Generac and DR Power Electric Start Pressure Washers Due to Carbon Monoxide Hazard

CPSC published a recall notice for Electric Start Pressure Washers from Electric Start on April 28, 2022. CPSC identifies this hazard: The electronic start/stop button on the pressure washer can malfunction and self-start, posing a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning if the unit is in a confined space. The official remedy states: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled pressure washer unless they have removed the rechargeable battery, and contact Generac to arrange to have an authorized dealer replace the start/stop switch on the pressure washer free of charge. The pressure washer can continue to be used with the battery removed but using the pull-start option to start the unit. Generac is contacting known consumers directly to provide more details about the repair.
